I am very grateful to Canon support center who solved my problem very quickly. Now I can connect my camera to the software they supplied at once, and I discovered a very nice feature in this great cam. I can take remote shots from the computer directly and the PC can work and a view finder and has a shutter release button :).
if any one is searching for a solution to the same problem ( connecting Canon S3 IS to ZoomBrowser EX) here is the solution from the Canon support center:
that allows the images on your camera to be downloaded without a driver
or software. It is called the Auto PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol)
mode.
Starting with ZoomBrowser EX v 5.5 there is a new OS service added
called Canon Camera Access Library pointing to C:\Program
Files\Canon\CAL\CALMAIN.exe. You can see that by clicking on START and
then RUN. In the box type SERVICES.MSC and press ENTER. The Canon
service mentioned above must be set on Automatic.
Right click on Canon Camera Access Library service and choose
PROPERTIES. If you click on the DEPENDENCIES tab you will see that the
service is depending on two services of the operating system: SSDP
Discovery Service and WIA. Check if those are set to automatic. If any
of these two are disabled, Canon service won’t start and you won’t be
able to use ZoomBrowser to download images from camera to your system.
