Password Miner is a new idea of Password managers, it keeps your password safe, without the need to remember any of them. at the mean time it mixes the idea of having a password for each different account, and at the same time you have to remember only one master word.

Advanced password generator is now Password Miner

by @ 11:37 am. Filed under Password Miner

I was planning to name the program as “Advanced Password Generator” (APG), as it really is. and I liked the name and started to deploy it. But a small search on the internet made it clear that tere is another program already called like that. although it is different in concept.

So I kept thinking about a name, and I am happy to name it as Password Miner. The program is now feature complete. still in the testing period and design finishing. The only task that is still pending is finding a suitable Icon and software logo.

Please keep tuned, the program will be out soon. and Oh, I forgot to say. it will be freeware, no nagware or spyware included, completely free :).

Advanced Password generator under development

by @ 4:14 pm. Filed under Password Miner

I always felt the need for a program like this, as there is an increasing number of internet sites and services coming up everyday, each one of them needs registration and you have to remember a username and password for each on of them.

Sure the password also must be secure and very hard to guess. And if it is very hard to guess then for sure it is very hard to remember too, specially if some of these sites are not for regular use, some sites are only needed once in a while.

some people make it easier for themselves, they only use one password and they use it everywhere, easy but not efficient. if this password is known somehow, everything is lost, and you will have to have hard time changing the password for all these sites, your email and whatever. so what is the solution?

Intel’s Core 2 “Quadro” on the horizon

by @ 12:09 pm. Filed under General

Just when we were getting excited about the Core 2 Duo chips that have become standard in everything from the 24-inch iMac to new Dell laptops, we’ve now got quad-core fever.
Yes, Intel already has the shown them off before, but Tom’s Hardware has a very thorough investigation into the nature of these four-headed beasts — what Tom’s is dubbing the Core 2 Quadro. (Of course if this really is the name, Intel may have to chat with NVIDIA first, as it already uses the name Quadro in a set of graphics cards.) So how’d it turn out?

This is not Fair at all :(

by @ 1:00 am. Filed under General

Twenty-two Palestinians reportedly been killed in the bloodiest day of violence since Israel pushed into the Gaza Strip.

Many of those killed in the air strikes and heavy fighting are civilian victims.

Israel’s operations, the biggest since it withdrew from Gaza last summer, began largely in the south in a bid to free a soldier captured by militants.

But troops moved deeper into the north after rocket attacks on a city.

Camera connection to PC done

by @ 11:46 pm. Filed under General

I am very grateful to Canon support center who solved my problem very quickly. Now I can connect my camera to the software they supplied at once, and I discovered a very nice feature in this great cam. I can take remote shots from the computer directly and the PC can work and a view finder and has a shutter release button :).

if any one is searching for a solution to the same problem ( connecting Canon S3 IS to ZoomBrowser EX) here is the solution from the Canon support center:

Your camera has a special function designed for Windows XP and Mac OS X
that allows the images on your camera to be downloaded without a driver
or software. It is called the Auto PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol)
mode.

Starting with ZoomBrowser EX v 5.5 there is a new OS service added
called Canon Camera Access Library pointing to C:\Program
Files\Canon\CAL\CALMAIN.exe. You can see that by clicking on START and
then RUN. In the box type SERVICES.MSC and press ENTER. The Canon
service mentioned above must be set on Automatic.

Right click on Canon Camera Access Library service and choose
PROPERTIES. If you click on the DEPENDENCIES tab you will see that the
service is depending on two services of the operating system: SSDP
Discovery Service and WIA. Check if those are set to automatic. If any
of these two are disabled, Canon service won’t start and you won’t be
able to use ZoomBrowser to download images from camera to your system.

My new Digital Camera Canon S3 IS

by @ 7:01 pm. Filed under General, Technical

I love gadgets, I like to own all of them if I can. one of the important gadgets is the Digital camera. and this week, I got my second one.

A week ago, I got a new Canon S3 IS. it is a great feature complete almost very proffissional Digi cam. It has 6 MegaPixles and an impressive 12X optical zoom and 4X digital zoom. very rich in features and high quality.

Canon S3 IS

It also has a lot of manual customizations if you like to play around with it, ISO, focus, Shutter speed and a lot of things. I really love this new (expensive, almost $500) Camera. and till now I am facing only 2 problems.

1- There is no way I can set the date to be on the pictures I take like it was in my old Sont DSC 31

2- I can’t get this Camera to work with the supplied software, I can download the photos to my PC using normal windows XP explorer. but not at all through the supplied software, I hope I can find a solution to this :(

Internet Explorer 7 uninstall problem

by @ 12:58 pm. Filed under Technical

I installed IE7 before and I was happy with it, actually I liked the tabbed browsing, it is now better even than Firefox.

But the stupid thing is that one of the important Nokia application I use for work is crashing, and I cannot get it back to work on IE7, so I decided to roll back to IE6, but…

I had a very stupid problem, after I unistalled IE7 and run IE6, each time I try to open a link or type an URL in the address bar, I cannot open it, it gives me an error message “Windows cannot find ‘(null)’” , and it opens a blank IE window. some times it just opens the link in a FireFox window?!!?!

I googled for a solution, and I found it in JonGalloway’s site , it is simply that IE7 is writing a registry code that messes up IE6. if you have this problem, simply Copy the text below, save it on a file called IE7fix.reg then run the file. then close all IE6 windows and start again, and the problem is fixed.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

It is easy now to create a web page

by @ 1:31 pm. Filed under Personal

Years ago, actually in 1997 I started my first web page, it was very
simple and limited, I started in a free hosting server I just designed
one or two pages and that’s it.

Later, when my developing skill in Visual Basic became some how mature,
I started to publish some of my programs on the internet, then I decided
I must have a decent web page, I believe that was on 1998. so I searched
for better free hosting servers and I found a few, I starting creating
my own HTML designed pages and my site became bigger with software
download pages and actually I was receiving good traffic, and I remember
that time I had a decent web address Tamersoft.cjb.net, nice hah ?! :D.
